NOC paid thrice the amount for land in Jhapa
The sub-board of trustees under Industry, Commerce and Consumer Rights Relation Committee of the Parliament said state-claimed Nepal Oil Corporation paid thrice the sum while buying land in Jhapa region.
Sub-board of trustees individuals from the council assessed the land bought by NOC to assemble storerooms and lift fuel stock at Charali in Mechinagar-13 of the area. NOC has acquired 23 bighas three katthas and 13 dhurs of land in the locale.
Examining the land, official Dipak Karki said NOC paid curiously high cost to buy the land. As per records at Land Revenue Office, Jhapa, NOC paid Rs 1.351 million for every kattha for the land. Nonetheless, the land proprietors got just Rs 440,000 to Rs 450,000 for every kattha. Official Karki said rest of the cash was misused.
Another examining part and official Rambir Manandhar said NOC misappropriation was cleared up by field assessment of the acquired land.
Land proprietor Bhupendra Karki said he was deceived into offering the land. "We don't knew anything. I sold three bighas of land after they paid Rs 440,000 for every kattha for the land that costs Rs 300,000 for each kattha," said Karki. Karki said he, be that as it may, had no clue on who the purchaser was and how much land was being bought in the range.
The state-claimed venture has been put under the scanner for asserted misappropriation of assets adding up to Rs670 million while purchasing land worth Rs1.61 billion out of four spots: Bhairahawa, Chitwan, Sarlahi and Jhapa.
The organization had purchased 24 bighas of land each in Chitwan and Jhapa regions and a further 20 bighas each in Bhairahawa and Sarlahi regions.
